At Gujarat Logistics, we believe long-term leadership in logistics comes from operational discipline, predictable execution, and continuous learning — not just scale.
In line with this belief, Gujarat Logistics recently participated in the Mahindra MPOWER – 7-day Residential Transport Management Development Programme conducted at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM-A).
Learning Beyond Experience
With close to two decades of experience in EXIM and surface logistics, Gujarat Logistics has built strong capabilities across key corridors and ports such as Mundra and Kandla. The MPOWER programme provided an opportunity to step back from daily operations and examine decisions through a structured management lens.
The programme brought together transporters from across India and combined real operational challenges from the trucking industry with IIM Ahmedabad’s case-based learning approach.
Programme Coverage
Over seven intensive residential days, the programme focused on areas that directly impact transport and fleet operations:
Fleet management decisions under uncertainty
Workshop efficiency, maintenance planning, and service-level discipline
Digitalisation and data-driven decision-making in trucking
Capacity planning and operational coordination
People management in high-pressure transport environments
Family business governance and leadership continuity
Negotiations, customer relationships, and B2B branding
The sessions were led by IIM Ahmedabad faculty including Prof. Debjit Roy, Prof. Sobhesh Agarwalla, Prof. Neharika Vohra, Prof. Biju Varkkey, among others, with cases rooted firmly in the Indian transport ecosystem.
Key Learnings for the Transport Industry
One clear message emerged throughout the programme:
Fleet outcomes are decided before the truck moves
Maintenance and workshops are operational safeguards, not support functions
Consistency beats firefighting in large fleet operations
Clear systems reduce dependence on individual effort
Trust and reliability define reputation in logistics
These learnings closely align with Gujarat Logistics’ long-standing focus on stable capacity, predictable transit, and reduced operational exceptions.
What This Means for Our Customers
Participation in MPOWER is not about credentials. It is about strengthening how decisions are taken across planning, maintenance, and people management.
For Gujarat Logistics’ customers, this means:
More disciplined operations
Better coordination across routes and assets
Higher consistency in service delivery
A transport partner focused on execution, not shortcuts
Commitment to Continuous Learning
The MPOWER programme reinforced Gujarat Logistics’ commitment to professionalising transport operations while staying deeply connected to on-ground realities. As the industry evolves, Gujarat Logistics remains focused on one promise:
Reliable execution, every movement, every day.
